This type of furnace is long and is attached with a water cooled cooling zone to bring down the temperature of strip below 100deg to maintain the brightness and quality of the strips. The Continuous type of furnace is used to anneal fine strips of Copper and copper based alloys and also Alloy steel strips. The strip is fed in to the furnace by a Pay Off ( Uncoiler ) and at the discharge there is a Take up ( Coiler ). There is a closed muffle inside the furnace and the cooling zone. To maintain atmosphere inside the furnace a mixture Nitrogen and Hydrogen gas is fed which ensure the material received after annealing is bright. Even Hardening and Tempering of Alloy steel strips are done in the Continuous type of Furnace.
